This type of disk images contain complex informations about disk for a more faithful storage of data.
The file start with a signature (magic bytes). There is a file header which contain information about number of sides, number of tracks and other useful things.
This images usually can store nonstandard data, like:
- deleted sectors
- not uniformly formatted tracks
- weak sector data
